Welcome to the Interface
Welcome to a facet of Arkansas’ Urban-Wildlife Interface, otherwise known as suburban Ferndale. Suburban Ferndale is a handful of houses sprawled over, in and around the Ouachita Mountains, near the crossroads that make up downtown Ferndale (pop. ??). Ferndale is home to two gas stations, two restaurants and an occasional fireworks stand or two, not to mention a few camps and and meeting facilities that allow groups of all stripes to get away from the city. The sheriff has a substation and there’s a volunteer fire department too.
Ferndale will soon be home to the Arkansas Outdoor School. More on that in the coming months.
