Heading back from a few days on the Gulf Coast, we made a point to cross the beautiful cable-stayed bridge that spans the Mississippi River between Greenville, Miss., and Lake Village, Ark. These were two from a series taken on approach through cornfields on the Mississippi side of the river, and on across the bridge. The photos don’t really do this gorgeous piece of design justice.

Love the portrait version! The perspective is lovely and I’m a sucker for blue skies and puffy clouds! Thanks for the pingback : )
Your winery photos are beautiful. Those lovely glass jugs can’t help but catch the eye. Great shots!
Thanks very much for the ping back and visit; much appreciated 🙂
I like your two very different views… so very different.
Beautiful shots of Parliament. Love the monochrome one. The Peace tower reflection is lovely too.
Thank you… the monochrome one is my favourite too… so eerie. The puddle shot was a lucky find 🙂
Thanks again for the visit.
Ah ha, I did a bridge for Where’s My Backpack’s Architecture challenge this week. It looks similar.
It’s gorgeous — and certainly much bigger than the one crossing the Mississip. Is it the Severn Bridge?
It sure is! And it looks so much better in the flesh.
Hard to shoot these bridges because of their scale and how lenses want to flatten them a little, but their lines and precise curves are so beautiful, they’re hard to resist.
I wished the shimmer of the air off the hot cornfield was a little more prominent in the Greenville shot. Like you said, some things look better in the flesh!
